In 1905, Thomas Richardson goes to a distant Welsh island to save his sister, Jennifer, who has been grabbed and held for recover by a secretive clique. Acting like a believer, Thomas experiences the pioneer, Malcolm Howe, who established the clique with two different convicts, Frank and Quinn. They guarantee that the fruitless island was delivered ripe through blood penance. Thomas finds Frank's child Jeremy and Quinn's little girl Ffion sneaking home after a tryst.
